Chrissy’s Kitchen provides environmentally conscious services that add minimal harm to the natural environment. Our commitment resonates throughout our suppliers who have the same standards as us; sourcing ingredients from local, organic or fair trade sources.
Our Seasonal Menu not only reduces the miles that your food travels, but also includes all elements of the food pyramid, ensuring that our clients receive a well-rounded and balanced selection
In addition to recycling all of our waste before, during, and after our events, Chrissy’s Kitchen aims to reduce plastic packaging wherever possible. We will only use paper straws, in accordance with our pledge to The Last Straw.
CARBON EMISSIONS
To reduce our carbon footprint, we source our ingredients from local and independent sources. We serve seasonal menus to cut down on the miles our food has to travel to reach your table.
When not sourcing independent, we find our additional ingredients at Sainsbury’s, which was recently ranked as the best supermarket with the lowest carbon emissions.
Our food waste is composted according to Lambeth Council Guidelines and is used to improve farmland in and around London.
We take care to calculate proportions when preparing each event, to avoid contributing to leftover food waste.
A PASS ON PLASTIC
At Chrissy’s Kitchen, we resent the contribution plastic has had and continues to have on our natural world. That is why we have joined the Last Straw campaign to ban plastic straws. When necessary we always opt for the paper alternative.
When buying other ingredients, we always try our best to avoid plastic wrapping.
Chrissy’s Kitchen is aiming to be plastic free by 2020, if Waitrose can do it, so can we!
Chrissy has always been passionate about food and after spending three years charity event planning she decided to make her dreams a reality. After graduating from Ballymaloe Cookery School, Chrissy’s Kitchen was born.
